Another reason we will not use Paypal again if we don't have to is that Paypal have no governing body over them in the UK. According to the Financial Ombudsman here in the UK, they can help with any issues you may have with Paypal, but Paypal is only governed by the laws and legislations in Luxembourg where they are based.
At the time of writing this, Geek Toy Stores paypal account has been frozen for 6 months pending a review. Paypal have refused to release our funds, totalling almost 8,000 pounds and have demanded that we stop trading altogether until they complete a review.
With no access to the majority of our businesses funds, Paypal have made it extremely difficult for us to trade. On top of that, when it comes to issuing a refund to a customer, we're not allowed to. Paypal will refuse all refunds, then tell the customers to contact the police about it.
They're service is atrocious and their treatment of their customers is shameful.
We are looking into alternative payment methods but will not use Paypal if we can help it.
